Power Transmission
The transmission sector needs to strengthen and upgrade the national ‘highway for power’. This is critical as load centres are separated from generation hubs. Improved policy and regulatory environment partly offset the credit risk of dealing with financially shaky DISCOMS. Investment in 400 and 765 kV lines is likely to be the main driver for PPP Projects in the sector where an annuity-like structure is the most commonly adopted commercial format.
