Thermal Power Generation
Despite almost two decades of private sector participation, the sector is yet to reach the desired stability. Promised capacity addition has woefully fallen short due to poor health of DISCOMS, fuel linkage issues and land acquisition related problems. Tariff is moving from regulated to bid based, triggering bouts of aggressive (and often unviable) bidding, followed, in some cases, by abandonment under one pretext or other.
